There’s been a lot of publicity in the press lately about online travel agents or OTA’s. We would like to assure you all that since 2011 Highcliffe B&B has not used any online travel agents to help sell our rooms. That’s right, we don’t use ANY!

When we bought Highcliffe B&B in 2008 we immediately used OTA’s. We inherited very few bookings and we figured that if everyone else was doing it…..well then “Let’s give that a go”. After 3 years we chose to leave for a great many reason we won’t bore you with, some of which you’ll have read about but mostly to offer our customers the best value for money.

The only third party we use to help make bookings is FreeToBook. This is not an OTA but an secure online booking system which we subscribe to. It doesn’t cost us anything to use it. It’s utterly unbiased. We pay only to use their secure PPI card protection scheme as we see this of great reassurance and benefit to you: our customer. You may see the widget for this attached to a ‘Book Now’ or ‘Check Availability’ link on any directories you might see us on such as Falmouth’s official website. FreeToBook makes sure that your information is secure when you book. The rates which are available on this site are provided by us: Vanessa & Simon and absolutely NO ONE ELSE. So. Yes. The rates you see online for Highcliffe B&B are 100% accurate and absolutely the best deal. Being without an agent means that we have to work very, very hard to get your attention. It’s pretty scary to go it alone we admit. We think it’s worth it though. We believe that if you are booking direct with your chosen accommodation provider, you will feel closer to us from the get go and that feeling of trust is priceless.
