Highcliffe
To the front of the house and just a minutes walk is the beach front where you can take your first holiday snap. From the beach front you can walk to your left and head towards Castle Beach located just below Pendennis Castle. It takes just a minute or two to get there. Pendennis Castle is permanently in sight along the headland and you can carry on uphill to the Castle and walk around its’ moat. The views from Pendennis Castle overlook The River Fal and St Mawes and also the bay to your right.
Choose to walk to your right along the beach front for around 5 minutes and you’ll find yourself at Gylly Beach: our blueflag beach. You can either have a swim, hire a paddleboard from Wesup, have a brew at Gylly Beach cafe or take the coastal walk to Swanpool Beach which takes around 10 minutes.
Whichever way you choose to go you’ll be taking photos all the way. The sea will always be in sight.
For the town and harbour, a simple 5 minute walk takes you to the start of town: The National Maritime Museum, the main harbour in Falmouth and the main shopping street. Here you will find lots of boutiques and an enormous amount of fantastic restaurants including Highcliffe’s very own INDIdog which is located right on the harbour wall which is why it has such stunning views.
