Eating Out
INDIdog Eatery On The Harbour
Highcliffe’s very own eatery.
A most amazing location literally on the harbour wall and very popular as the place to get that holiday vibe over an evening glass of wine or a sundowner.
We never fail to be impressed by INDIDOG’s beautiful, uninterupted waterside location. Seeing that view…it never gets old.
INDIDOG is our very own restaurant which we launched just before the COVID lockdowns in the summer of 2019. The site that INDIDOG sits on previously a sportsbar called The Waterman’s. Much loved by locals but closed down for rowdy night time behaviour. We just could not resiste the temptation to do what we did with Highcliffe back in 2008 – to take an old and run down buidling and give it a new lease of life. We also realised that most of Falmouth’s restaurants (which are all very, very good by the way) are small. Having lived in London for 20 years and dined in The Ivy, La Caprice, Quo Vadis to name a few, we felt that a large but lucurious place to eat, drink cocktails and be social was missing. So we decided to make INDIDOG a place to have a coffee, or sit on the terrace by the water drinking wine. Our food is based on localy sourced, seasonal ingrediants with a well considered balace of meat, fish & vegetables. Lobster in the summer is a must and Guineau Fowl in the winter is a dead cert. We are famous for the quality of our cocktail list and our pancake stacks. W
Open 9am till 9pm – Kitchen closes between 3&6pm but the bar stays open with nibbles and 2 for £12 cocktails daily 2 – 6pm.

Penny Come quick
St Austell Brewery owned pub located on The Moore in Falmouth. It’s got a great reputation for a lovely Sunday roast and a pretty decent food offering. It’s quite cozy and the staff are really nice.

The Shed
The Shed have been friends of Highcliffe since our earliest days. The homemade Shed Burger (huge), the silky sirloin or their friendly service are more than enough reason to book a table.

The Pandora Inn
We just love visiting the Pandora Inn. It’s location is stunning: on the waters edge in Mylor with wood decking right over the water. The food is fantastic and combined with the utterly historic architecture of this chocolate box pub, the Pandora is a great one to visit. It’s a 5 mile drive from Highcliffe B&B so costs around £15 each way in a taxi, parking onsite.

The Star & Garter
Gastro Pub on the Old High Street. Like INDIDOG it has lovely views of the harbour . It’s best known for it’s Sunday roasts. We really like the cosy decor and has some really nice cocktails. It’s one of the more expensive places but it also offers more. 52 High St, Falmouth TR11 2AF
Restaurant Mine
Run by a really lovely couple and located in the Old Brewery Yard off The Old Highstreet. It’s food is quite similar to our own INDIDOG where it differs is that it is much smaller with around 10 tables. We really like it here. We think you will too. Decor is Scandi and natural materials.

The Shack
Located next to and owned by The Shed team, go here for loads of shellfish in a chilled out venue.

The Tresanton
On Thursday nights the Fal River ferried put on one late night ferry between Falmouth & St Mawes. This means that within a half hour ferry ride you could be eating in The Tresanton. This is owned by The Polizzi family and you recognise that name from TV’s The Hotel Inspector. This is one of the most beautiful hotels with 3 Italian style terrace overlooking the Fal. It’s not going to be a budget night but it is going to be worth every penny. You do need to book the restaurant in advance and you may find some nights are hotel guests only. Do call and check.
