Beaches
Falmouth has some beautiful beaches.
Falmouth has four main beaches: Castle Beach, Gyllyngvase beach, Swanpool and Maenporth.
Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth
The Big One – Gylly Beach is predominantly a family beach with professional lifeguards in busy periods.

It is located just down from Castle Beach, 10 minutes walk from town and 3 – 4 minutes walk from Highcliffe. Walk down De Pass road opposite the house and take a right down Cliff Road.
It has a 160 space car park 100 yards from the beach if you don’t fancy the walk with your beach gear.
Check out www.wesup.co.uk for more information on Gylly’s surf offering. Novice surfers can catch a wave most days. There’s a beach volley ball net during the summer and the annual lifesaving championships take place in July each year.
It’s one of Britain‘s few blue flag beaches and home to Gylly Beach Café – which just lifts it to cool beach status. It’s a really comfy, easy beach and we love it.
Castle Beach, Falmouth
The Local One – a great family beach loved by the locals due to the fantastic rock pools that appear at low tide offering great crabbing opportunities, the kids love it.

Located on the cliff road toward the Castle just opposite The Royal Duchy Hotel, Castle Beach is about a 5 minute walk from Highcliffe. Beautiful sunsets and a fantastic beach café make this a spot to head for.
Swanpool Beach, Falmouth
The Sporty One – Swanpool is a good all weather swimming beach and is the home of Elemental Watersports Centre www.elementaluk.com so there’s lots going on here.
The little outdoor café open all year round has quirky ice creams and friendly staff.
There are beach huts, a bouncy castle from May to September, crazy golf and a good sized car park.
Course there’s the Swan Pool where you can feed the birds and watch the experts sailing their model boats.
You can also enjoy a restaurant meal just above the beach at Hooked On The Rocks.
Maenporth Beach, Falmouth
The Sandy One – a little cove on the left for shelter and a cute little café for ice cream.

Maenporth has a small car park which can get busy so get there early or walk along the coastpath.
The Cove restaurant is here if you would like a special lunch after a dip in the sea.
A pretty little drive gets you there and it’s small and cute when you arrive.
